I was obese and weighed over 200 pounds. I was just 5 foot six. I did not like the way I looked. I did everything that I could, running, jogging, cycling. Although these are great cardio exercise, I was not able to get a toned and ripped body. One day I saw P90X commercial and finally thought to order the workout program. I am very happy that I did! - Rachel Holly, Jacksonville, FL

I was jealous of my friends as they had ripped and toned body. One day I asked my friend Jane about the secret. He said there was no secret involved, it was all hard work. He gave me a set of DVD's and asked me to follow it for a week. I was so impressed that I decided to order one for myself. I am glad I did, because I am now fit and toned like my friends.- Linda Illiades

Tony Horton, the trainer behind the making of P90x believes in following a good diet along with a strict workout schedule, which when combined gives you the best results to lose weight. The nutrition plan is divided into three phases; the first phase is the fat burning phase, second is the strength increasing phase and third is the endurance building phase.

The fat shredder phase is designed to make the body lean, to achieve this you will have to include a high protein diet which will strengthen the muscles and help lose the extra fat. For this daily diet should include 50% proteins, 30% carbohydrates and 20 % fats. This can be achieved by consuming proteins, dairy products, fresh fruits, vegetables, fats, carbohydrates, condiments, snacks and P90x supplements such as recovery drink and protein bar.

The second phase, also known as the energy booster is designed to increase the strength of the body. This is required because the workout schedule becomes more rigorous and the body has to be prepared for this extreme workout, hence changes in the diet becomes more necessary. The diet in this phase should include a mix of proteins and carbohydrates in equal quantities with a small amount of fat which will provide the right amount of energy. The daily diet should include 40% proteins, 40% carbohydrates and 20% fats.

The third phase is the endurance maximizes and is designed to make the body fit by increasing carbohydrates in the diet. This diet would yield results only if the above two phases are utilized properly. The third phase should include 40% carbohydrates, 20% proteins and 20% fats.
